Im in the process of doing 600 in a 400 as well and just had a similar issue. Some how I managed to mix up the plugs for the handle bar switches and the main harness. Once I figured that out it sparked and all good.

Make 100% sure that you use the 600 ECU! Your 600 powerplant won't be happy for long at 14K
