Were you aware of the following: Michael schaivo used to check terri's odometer, then question her as to where she travveled that day, to try to catch her in a lie, out of jealousy. Michael schaivo used to tell terri she becoming overweight, fuelling her dieting and self consciousness, playing into her unhealthy dieting. For the sake of this discussion, We will give michael the benefit of the doubt and assume she did fall and recieve brain damage from her unhealthy diet, and not assume he actually harmed her.. after her brain damaging injury, michael sued for 20 million dollars, the insurance company and cried poverty. The family then moved both schaivo's in as any good family would do. htey lived there for a year. Michael told the courts "yes I need 20 million, because I want to take terry home with me, and we're going to live and be together, nad she may live a very long time, and healthcare is very expensive" (i'm paraphrasing here) Michael schaivo was awarded 2.5 million, after recieving his money, all of a sudden michael switches positions and says "look terry's not going to get better, I'm going to pull life support". At this time, Michael never says anything about "terri's wishes to not be on life support".. It's only after 7 years later, AFTER he's moved on to a new woman, wants to get married and has kids, and comes up with this "oh i remembered terri said in passing one time 'i don't want to be kept alive like that'" The judge ordered a social worker to check out the situation for him, the social worker wrote that michael schaivo's interests were self motivated, questionable, and therefor not trustworthy to be counted. Schaivo was the only one who claimed to say "terri would rather die". The judge dismissed his own persion he assigned for that himself, and said the report was biased. Michael's ex girlfriend and nurses both claim micahel would refer to his wife in deragatory statements saying things like "she's ruining my life, when is the bitch going to die". Another nurse found two pin needles marks under terri's breasts, and found an insulin tube in the waste can after michael had an unsupervised visit with terri. Terri's "vegitative" body had broken bones and fractures. The court and shaivo was aware of this. THe court said "it's interesting but plays no bearing in the case". Michael, as well as everyoene else, knew of these injuries.. yet for some reason... never asked for it to be investigated? WHY??? Michaels Lawyer has made a direct campain contribution to judge greer.. and judge greer has faithfully ruled in their favor. Michael refused to let nurses brush terri's teeth, saying that's rehabilitation, stop that. Terri had an infection, michael ordered it to go untreated. In all of those 15 years, michael would not allow terri to get rehabilitative therapy, or any other evaluations that the parents requested. and i'm sure there are things i'm leaving out. Now based on all this background info, it's pretty obvious michael didn't care for terri, and wanted her dead, for his own reasons. I support a persons right to die. I support a persons right to treat their own body as they see fit. I support a persons right to die and end their own suffering. I support assisted suicide. I do not support one man's claim that his wife said she wanted to die, when his actions speak louder th an his words. If terri had said she wanted to die to her blood family, then I would say Amen Go with God sister.. But michael schaivo.. there's even more info on him that I can't remember right now.. but the man is not to be trusted. How many of you who wanted Terri to die, knew all of this stuff about michael schaivo? The fact of the matter is that it should be Terri's choice, and if she didn't have it written down, they should have just given custody to her blood family, her parents, to care for or attempt rehabilitation as they saw fit. Not a husband who is as ill repute as Michael schaivo.
back it up. show us the documentation where that is found. And not some ultra zealoust website that talks about the 3rd coming of Christ and how Terri Schiavo is really the Virgin Mary re-incarnated.....
and these "facts" are from who? her psycho-uber-catholic parents? yeah they had her best interest in mind...right...right.
Thanks for sharing all that info with us. If you had not made your post, none of would have heard any of that as the media really did not cover this story.
Re: Re: For those of you who feel for michael schaivo I've followed the case on fox news, cnn news, and I listen to the glenn Beck show, which routinely interviews Terri's brother. http://www.glennbeck.com/audio/free-audio.shtml The family created a website, documenting all of the afadavits http://www.terrisfight.org/documents.html If you listen to all of the radio interviews in the first link above, you will hear exactly the same stuff I just told you. They reference the who what when where... etc. All that stuff about michael schaivo. Now all I ask, is in all fairness, that you listen to each radio interview in it's entirety before you reply just dismissing what I RELAY without yourself reviewing the material. That would be very ignorant to deny something you iddn't review. Now for those of you who argue terri was a vegtable brain dead, immobile, didn't feel pain, didn't react to stimuli, if you go to the http://www.terrisfight.org website (granted, the schindler familys' website) I welcome you to review the multimedia files, and the at least 17 or so dr's afadavids saying Terri wasn't a vegitable. I encourage you to review the video, and you see terri responds to stimuli. If you read the nurses afidavids, how she showed emotion, and moved her body as much as she was able to.. you will see she wasn't brain dead, but brain damaged, handicapped. Terri's dead now.. I'm no zealot thinking no one should be killed and everyone should be alive.. a lot of people deserve to die.. but not a handicapped woman who hasn't harmed anyone.. but she's deceased now.. so i'm not arguing to keep her alive.. I'm arguing to present the truth. If anyone has any respect for truth.. please.. review EVERYTHING from the sites I posted above... instead of just ignorantly ignoring the information presented and replying back with some insensative comments. P.S. You guys might want to check out the Glenn Beck radio show, the guy is intelligent and hilarious, albiet a very morbid sense of humor sometimes. Half the time he's making great points in common sense, decency and logic, the other half of the time he's making sick, but hilarious jokes.
Her diagnosis, provided by numerous well respected neurologists, has been upheld in court over and over again. All opinions to the contrary are tainted by either religous zealotry or self-serving family ties. Just for grins, what possible explanation do you have that supports your theory that there was some sort of conspiracy involving many doctors and judges to kill the woman? What would be their motive?
Re: Re: Re: For those of you who feel for michael schaivo so that comes from her family and some freakazoid radio show.... well by goller gee that must be the truth.....
I did not say there was a consipiracy. That loaded question was a very weak arguement. Are you saying doctors are always right? You know they aren't. Dr's make misdiagnosis all the time. It is a fact that Schaivo's lawyer has made a campaign contribution to judge greer, and if you check the list of court documents you'll see the judge making some pretty stupid decisions as far as denial of motions to challenge michael's fitness as a gaurdianship, obtaining updated evaluations of her condition, and her abuse. he denied to hear any of that. Greer should have stepped down from the case on the bases that he recieved funds from michael schaivo's counsel.
Re: Re: Re: Re: For those of you who feel for michael schaivo It's obvious you aren't interested in reviewing the facts, and wish to remain ignorant. I'm done wasting my time on you. As ignorant as you wish to be that's fine. It was not my goal to educate you. It was my goal to present information to those who were not exposed to it, and are interested. I'm sure some people are now aware of things they weren't. I didn't come here to argue with you, and so well "you win.. good job.. you look brilliant from your wonderful arguements.. you really... put me in my place.. you've really discredited me... you've really proved that i'm a liar.. that the schindler family are liars.. that the court documents list are fakes.. tally ho good job!". <sarcasm mode off> i'm done talking to you now. bye.
You imply it by accusing many doctors and many judges of intentionally killing the woman. Yes, they do. But wouldn't you agree that when numerous doctors come to the same diagnosis, and reviews by multiple judges in multiple jurisdictions all come to the same conclusion that it may have a pretty good chance to be correct? Honestly, I think you're delusional if you believe that after 15 or 16 years of PVS that she'd come around, but I'm no neurologist, so I may be wrong. OK, so now there is a conspiracy? What about all of the other courts who reviewed the case? Were those judges on the take also? BTW, are you using punched cards for your posts? They're all like 80 characters wide?
I'm not here to argue with you or anyone else, but I will give you this one response. i'm sorry.. can't your screen handle it? Anyway like i said, i'm done debating this. I think one reply is courteous enough. YOu may have the last word. I've presented the information that I'm aware of. I'm not in a pissing contest. If anyone wants to think michael schaivo is a good guy or hero, or that terri had no emotions and was ina PVS vs being disabled with mental impairment, despite the information to the contrary, so be it. Some people think the holocaust didn't happen too.. some people just, for whatever reason, do not want to face the truth. If you are one of those people. SO be it. I'm sure you're compelled to reply, so go ahead have your last word. I am done with this conversation. I've made my case, and i'm confident that it isnt' on the level to be misconscrued with those confused consipiracy theorists or religious zealots. I believe in God. I don't attent churge or put a lot of weight in organized religions, I don't hold all life sacred.. I'm sure it sucked to be in terri's condition.. and my position, from the news that's been reported, is merely, michael schaivo wasn't a good husband, is not a good man, should not have been granted gaurdianship, and not been put in the position to decide if terri should be alive or dead. If you read Michael schaivo's affadavit you'll see they were only married 4 months, and barely saw each other except on sundays due to their work schedules. Yet his husbandship qualifies him to decide on the life or death of his wife? Not in my book. Sure being in terri's condition must have sucked, but I say the decision to pull someones life support shouldn't be made by someone with so little credibility. That decision should have been made by those who had a lifetime of loving the woman, if it wasn't documented of her own wishes. This will be the end of my replies to you on this thread. Just so you know.
Not sure why you would post in a discussion group and then pick up your marbles and go home when people enter into a discussion and take an alternative view from yours. In any case, I believe that you're missing the key point. Law in the state of Florida grants specific spousal rights, whether you like them or not. When they were married, Michael became her legal guardian, and with that responsibility he has the absolute power to decline unwanted medical treatment. The US Supreme Court decided years ago that such a right to decline unwanted treatment is a constitutional right. Your emotional opinion to the contrary simply holds no water.
uh, buh bye, thank you for playing, we have your pity prize in the back and some papers to sign. NEXT.
