A fine man indeed. He was one helluva poker player too. Played a few times with him and his brother in law, Roger. Prayers and condolences to the whole Hayden family.
Couldn't quite think of how to word my post but I think this pretty much sums it up. Never met him and honestly don't know much about him other than what I've read here and there over the years. But the legacy produced by his children definitely commands a lot of respect and is probably one of the things a father can be most proud of in life. RIP sir. If my son turns out half as inspiring as his kids, I'll be damn proud.
I saw the same post and thought to myself he had such a great smile with all of the young'ins around. Rest easy sir.
I just did YCRS this year with Roger as one of the coaches. I told him then that his dad was one of a kind and that I had nothing but respect for the whole family. I'll say a prayer for the whole family. RIP Earl.
RIP Mr. Hayden. If we would’ve met, I’d have called you Mr. Hayden, but I have a feeling you’d have told me “Mr. Hayden was my dad, my name’s Earl.” You’ve left a legacy that you can be proud of. Your family will miss you dearly, but I know you’re catching up with Nicky right now. Godspeed, Earl.
Earl was an ambassador of our sport…. Met with him many times.. I am sure he is upstairs with Nicky, Bobby Lewis and TDubb hootig it up… Condolences to all that knew him…
Was fortunate to have chatted with Earl a few times during various race weekends. He was a good man... Thoughts and prayers for Rose and the rest of the family.
RIP Earl, a genuine humble soul. Unbeknownst to the Hayden family he planted the seeds in my daughter many years ago.
Man, you really have a way with words. Remember that one time about contacting teenagers online? Same principle… At least, you are making me smile on a sad day.
Had a long post about a time when our kids played with his grandkids at Circuit of America while he was selling merch for Nicky. Didn’t think anyone would appreciate it so I condensed it. Guess it sounded bad after rereading. Sad day in the Miller house. Was a great conversation between my daughter “Hayden” (she was only around 6yo) and Earl.
