First he loses both legs in an Indy car. Rehabs, becomes a handcycle racing champ, gets back into race cars. No he is in serious condition after being hit by a vehicle while on his handcycle. Goddammit world, fuk off. https://amp.formula1.com/en/latest/...accident-in-italy.1py0usmyEzuNYEQ8wDAGcB.html
The perseverance of Alex after such a huge adversity of his Cart crash speaks volumes of his character. Heal up Champ!
Yes he did. Prayers sent for a full recovery. I got to see him race an IndyCar a few times, he was always in the fight. I would place this guy in the top 5 of all time racers, amazing guy.
RIP to this paraplegic warrior. https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/26/us/angela-madsen-obit-spt-trnd/index.html
The reporting I saw did not put the truck driver at fault. It seemed to indicate that Alex had made a mistake of some sort. Hope he makes it thru.
Please stop bumping this thread. Every time I see it on the front page I cringe. Hope you pull through Alex.
It flipped out of the closed lane into an oncoming truck. Which kinda makes the idea that the lane was closed bullshit.
I don't think I fully realized how bad it was until reading this… https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a...-sight-and-hearing-as-his-recovery-continues/
This might sound morbid but I wonder if at some point you're just better off dying. That guy has had hell of a lot thrown at him.
When he lost his legs he helped improve prosthetics for everyone, so let's see what he does this time. The guy is absolute idol material in my book and still the only one to do the corkscrew pass in an open wheeler.
