Just a heads up on the kid. We're getting a number of calls and messages about how he's doing.... He's just getting out of surgery in a hospital (in Roanoke, VA) and in post op/recovery. They put a rod up through his knee to hold the three pieces of his femur together....there were no other injuries to his head or face as what might have previously reported. It was a scary ride to the hospital because the track or the medical staff or whomever would talk to us reported a whole different story. He was very much awake and coheirent last night. We've already had "the talk" and he was stong enough to want to argue with us.....suprisingly, the biggest issue he's having so far is the cathiter (sp?). He wants that thing out now. Thanks for all of the calls and prayers.
get well soon Hey Corey.....heal up man. Enjoyed racing with you last weekend during the WERA endurance race.....Brian
OMG, don't tell him, but the worst part of the cathider is taking it out. Mine hurt like hell, and popped like the sound you make popping your finger off the inside of your cheek.
Oh yeah, I wish him a speedy recovery. I was pitted next to you guys at VIR earlier this year with CCS. He seemed like a good kid.
Hey Jeremy, this is Steve, I ride with Joe and Bluegrass. Corey of course does a great job for us and you're always kickin' ass in our pits and always wearing my pants too. Just a little smiley for ya in your tough time with Corey. Joe was calling me when this happened. Instant thoughts and prayers went your way. Damn, Corey has been kickin' ass and doing great on everything he throws a leg on. He's young, he'll be back, and stronger for sure.
Ah man, I had no idea this happened! I'm so sorry. Give him my love and I'm sending hugs and well wishes!
J... This is Joe Novella from PA (the old FZR400 racer). I just read this post... I had no idea Corey had a tipover? Tell him me and my family will keep him in our thoughts... Hoping for a speedy recovery.
