oh one more thing about MY part of canada (cape breton island) it was voted as the #2 tourist destination IN THE WORLD this year by a national geographic study. thats right, ahead of the pyramids, the grand canyon, hawaii, eyt. the only thing that beat it was the norwegian fiords. pretty good stuff for a little island, and something i am proud of.

 

Drugs are cheaper in Canada because the government imposes price controls on them.

 

Not so much price control but government does pay a portion of the cost for medicine which is what makes it cheaper for everyone else.

Canada is more socialist than the USA and we do pay more taxes.

But for the record, the NDP is the left wing 'socialist' party and has zero chance of ever winning a federal election. Despite their name, the Liberal party in power is actually considered middle of the road by most and in many ways is fiscally closer to the right.
