Hey folks... just picked up a 2002 XR100 I'm trying to rehabilitate and prep to run at United Karting. What are folks running for catch cans? Is PVC pipe allowed? Is there something simpler I'm not thinking of? I'll probably email them also, but I've seen some of you talking about it and figured I'd ask. Thanks.
go kart catch can attached at the front frame brace. Can use the gsxr flexible hose clamps attached to the stator case bolts.
biggest thing is make sure the catch can vents to the outside. You can run the tank & carb vents to the can where no fluid will be able to escape even in a crash
Does the go-kart can come with a vent, or do you need to make one? Do you vent to the outside, or run a hose to the airbox, or doesn't matter?
yes just needs a small vent to keep from generating a vacuum. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Oil-Catch-...729406?hash=item1cd121acfe:g:SPoAAOSw94Fc~r8C
I take a short piece of PVC and two PVC end caps, drill 2 holes in one cap and glue the caps on each end to make a capsule looking capsule receptacle. Zip tie it onto the bike in a place that's out of the way of your foot controls, but the hoses can reach. Feed the hoses/tubes into the capsule, and it should work quite nicely.
