On mine I just ordered a Sportster 520 front and a Renthal rear Sprocket withh an RK chain and I was good to go. There are lots of gearing options.I did have to space out my counter shaft a few mm's to keep the chain run in line.
Nope, you just have to run the chain real loose. The counter shaft to swingarm position has allways been a problem with the Buells. That motor was never ment to be hung as a stressed member.I'ts roots go back to 1958.I did have to do a little grinding on the swing arm for clearance and had to convince the guys at tech that the chain was not going to fall off but it all worked out.
Wow, that is a thread resurrection. Anyway, the XB chain drive conversion could now be ordered at any Buell dealership. Back in 2005, Hal's was a great source for Buell race stuff.
Looks like one raced LWTSS at the GNF this year. http://www.wera.com/results/showeventresults.asp?x=1098&rg=7101152660&c=7101151976 Wish I'd known, I would have raced more classes.
Buell does have the swing arm for the RR which is for running the chain. There is a chain tensioner out there that bolts up the same as the stock belt tensioner. Not sure who has it though, ask on badweatherbikers.com, they will have all the answers you will need.
That whole setup is available through Buell's parts department.
