Way to go #4.....taking a whole team down with you due to your personality. (also, not to pick on the OP, but this was coming now for some time.....not sure if its bombshell material )
We all could see it coming. It was just breaking news on NFL network. And,I just wanted to do a Bombshell thingy.
I actually liked Childress as a person. I worked for the UW Training Table in college while he was a coach there. He was a nice down to earth guy that actually talked to us peons in the kitchen. Too bad Favre and the drama had to take him down.
It wasnt Farve's fault. Chilly couldnt get it done before Farve.. he almost got it done with Farve.. and most of the reasons they've sucked this year has little to do with Farve. Has anybody taken time to look at Minn's defense? What happened to that abusive D-Line.. has Jared Allen even recorded a sack yet? What about their cornerbacks, they have gave up more big plays than the home run derby. Where is Adrian Peterson's numbers from past.. he's struggled more this year than any. And dont even get started on the injuries with the recievers.. Harvin playing busted up all year long, Sidney Rice JUST played the for first time ever, Berrian dropping balls as usual. The entire team has sucked balls all year long. And the finger pointing should be in all directions. But it always starts at the top. Ask Wade Phillips. The real reason Chilly is gone because he lost the respect and faith of his players. The team revolted against him, not Farve.
If the Moss deal would have worked out Childress would be a hero right now. Honestly, for the first time in my life I am apathetic towards Viking football right now. I still might go to the Vikings-Bills game though.
The absence of a cohesive receiving team in the early season destroyed their chances. Add to it the inept coaching of Childress and his really *really* stupid hiring/firing of Moss, and the offensive line's inability to keep the opposing defense from ringing Favre's bell, the offense was doomed. Defensively, they have done well in games past to keep the scores close. The last couple of games, IMHO, they've been lackluster in their performance because they too know the writing's on the wall for this season, and they have no faith in their (former) coach or the offense's ability to maintain a drive, score some points, and not commit turnovers. This might slap some sense into everyone on the team. We've got 6 games left to find out.
Yep, the entire team is sucking this year, but like you said it all comes down to the people on top, Childress on the sideline and Favre in the huddle. I'm loving WI football after this weekend.
