I kind of have the same question about bed linens. I'm a sucker for high thread counts. The lint just says to me that the items are being worn away. If you line dry them though, no lint. But I do love peeling the lint from the filter screen.

Also, once you peel off the lint you can use the wad of it to dust off the leftover lint where you pulled the screen out. Can't stand a linty dryer top.

At the risk of further discrediting my “man card”, yes, bamboo is awesome. I got a set with my Purple mattress and they’re awesome. They’re stretchy so they move with the mattress instead of pulling off the corners like regular sheets.
