Not trying to rain on your parade, but that helmet is probably well over a decade old by now. I know because I bought one brand new for $350 back in 2014.

Lightly used doesn't matter much when the most race or track orgs will not accept helmets older than 5 years (WERA included).

 

Thanks for your concern, think I should throw out my Carbon Fiber wheels too?

Im fairy certain that 5 year cut-off on helmets is only to be compliant for licensed racing organizations and accordingly what the helmet is guaranteed and warranted for by the manufacturer. Most people don’t usually throw out their car after its warranty period is up. I was told how it was used & stored plus the state of the foam and if its ever had any impacts is what matters…which in this case is barely used and stored in its velvet bag indoors its whole life. Foam is still like new, no impacts and liner is in great condition and is also removable/washable.

Fact is Ive used it on track days with 4 different track day organization providers over the last 2 seasons. Never once had anyone ask about our helmet manufacture date..
