Hey all, Im trying find some info to help out a friend Just looking for some info regarding California models of the F3 as this bike may be a Cali model and he is getting pretty low HP figures(83) Its meant to be a pretty fresh engine with some mild head work at the most. So are there any differences in cam shafts or any other known restrictions? Cheers for any help :up:
Cali model had different cams, I'm pretty sure. 83 isn't terrible. The stock bore F3s in 95 made 85-90 with some tuning, at least on my dyno. The carbs got a little better with the later F3s.
The lift & duration differences are in the shop manual. Get the 49 state cams. They make a difference.
Ca racers always looked for 49 state bikes. We are so far ahead in CA that the racers just want to be like the other 49 states.
