Was talking to a buddy about this over the weekend, mainly because he is in the market for some sort of small/mid CC bike

It seems like we're going to have a few options pretty soon:

    KTM 350
    KTM 690 *

    NINJA 250
    NINJA 300

    CBR 250
    CBR 500

    SUZUKI 250

    MV F3 / BRUTALE *
    TRIUMPH 675 *

    * Not sure if these fall into this category

I hope this segment grows, since all the 600s are over $10k now, the companies can probably find something to fit in between the NINJA 250 price-point and the cheapest 600 MSRP. Maybe I'm wrong. /shrug

Maybe it's just me, but FFS, enough w/ the low hp singles give me something other than a 1CYL option -- 2/3/4/5 plzkthx.

Had not heard of the WeeBR 500 and the Suziyuki 2-fitty. Exciting stuff!!!

The head doesn't lead me to think a big power version is in the cards. SOHC?

There's already the Kawi Ninja 650/ER6N, Suzuki SV 650/Gladius and Yamaha FZ6 in that category.
