Skip the hookers and blow but anything else is fair game. Walkable neighborhood with stores and restaurants is probably preferable as the wifey will be with me. We will be there Thursday from 11-8pm.
http://www.horseplayatlanta.com/ I bumped into Dave K there. His face lookEd like a glazed doughnut. YMMV
Stay at the airport. If you leave it is almost a certainty someone will do something stupid in traffic and you will never make it back to the airport.
The flight we are catching in Atlanta only goes out once a week. The reason we scheduled such an early flight was it if anything happens our originating airport we can drive to Atlanta in time and still make our flight.
Thanks but the thought of climbing on a 16 hour flight smelling like scented body lotion and booze does not thrill my wife.
Grab Marta and head to the midtown area (Arts Center or 10th/14th St). That puts you at the High Museum, Margaret Mitchell House, Piedmont Park, Botanical Gardens, Fox Theater, etc. There are a ton of restaurants in the area and uber will get you to several other areas pretty easily. The train is about 30 minutes from the airport to arts center with no train changes.
Or just do a dining tour of the airport. Some good stuff out on concourses E and F. Good pizza on A. Few local breweries have places now as well.
https://martaguide.com/attractions/ I second the marta tip. Make sure you keep good track of your carry on. I'm across the street from the Oakland city stop. DO NOT get off there.
I think I want to travel with you. You seem more than willing to dive in to the gutter at the slightest provocation...
