Honda still makes some V-4 street motorcycles (VFR, ST1300), just not in a supersport type bike, except the RC213 which is just ridiculous. You can even get an Ariel Atom with the Honda VFR1200 motor.
Your mean. Truth hurts hahahaha Up until this point I've lusted for a RSV4, but I don't trust them at all reliability wise. Ducati ain't half bad these days it seems
Good thing WERA has unlimited OEM displacement for A class. Bad thing if you want to go race MotoAmerica.
I think having a larger than 'class allowed' displacement is great for road bikes. Makes for greater available torque and lower engine speeds. Lower engine speeds should lead to longer service intervals and maybe even be cheaper for the end consumer. For those who see the value in the extra performance of an 'R' version, let them spend the extra money and offer that too. I think it's great. Part of the reason I've alwys been a big fan of big twins on the street. KTMs, Ducatis, 1100v4 aprilia etc - just better on the road for my use.
I think the R has ALWAYS been much more desirable from a racing standpoint, especially at the AMA/MA level. The 1098R is far better than the 1098/1198 for racing use. As was the 999R vs 999, or 998R vs 998 and CERTAINLY the 996R vs 996.
thanks! tried to find the exact # on ducati's mobile website. couldn't find it. just lots of jibberjabber
