Selling my 2006 F250 Lariat Crew Cab 4x4. 241,000km Not running properly. I've had a hard time figuring out what is wrong with it. I think it just needs an owner that knows these trucks well... It might be something silly and small. Please understand that you'll need to tow or trailer it away. The truck is in Canada. I'll do whatever I can to help an American buyer with the export. I don't know how it works bringing a truck into the US but I know that bringing a vehicle into Canada is really simple. I've done it with trucks and motorcycles. It's an Alberta truck so the body is really solid. Minimal rust. The bottom 10" or so of the body was cleaned up with a wire wheel, covered with POR15 then Herculiner. New fender flares also covered with Herculiner. The driver's seat bolster is torn, the interior isn't perfect but it's not that bad either. Truck has a 4" lift, 4" Magnaflow straight exhaust from the turbo back. ARP head studs, EGR delete and upgraded oil cooler. Lots of new parts. I just had a safety inspection completed in November, I've only put about 800km on it since then. New: - 5 injectors (1, 3, 5, 7 and 6) - Radiator, upper and lower hoses, thermostat - Power steering pump and both high pressure lines - 185 amp alternator, two new batteries - FICM just repaired at ficmrepair.com - new DP Tuner Infiniti Mini on the A-pillar with a 60hp daily tune and a 80hp towing tune - New windshield - Both e-brake cables - Front ball joints (upper and lower) and front axle u-joints - Both front axle bearing supports - New steering center link - New Air Raid air filter - Truck has Hankook Dynapro MT tires. 3 at 50%, 1 is brand new. - New grille - Blue spring upgrade complete along with a mini fuel pressure gauge on the regulator Lots of time and money has gone into this truck since I got it. I'm just not able to figure it out... my loss is your gain. Will take some more pics tomorrow. Asking $9000USD obo.
Thanks. I was really hoping to keep this truck and sell my Sierra 1500 but it just hasn't worked out.
Running rough. Right now it has a cylinder #1 contribution fault. FICM is good, injector wiring harness is good (good continuity, no shorts), most injectors are new. So.... ?? I do have the AutoEnginuity scan tool that's pretty useful to have with a Ford Power Stroke. I could include that with the truck. With the current USD/CAD exchange rate an American buyer could get this truck for cheap and even if they have to spend a bit at a shop to get it sorted out it'll still be a good deal.... just a bit of leg work to do the import. Pricing on these trucks in the US is pretty crazy.
Have you checked the coils? My Ford van (2002 E350, 300,000 miles) had similar problems with rough running, loss of power. Replaced the ignition coils and that solved all the problems. Been running well for the past 1.5 years since I replaced them.
Open to reasonable offers. Right now there is a cylinder #1 misfire and and the turbo needs cleaning. It spins fine but the vanes are stuck and I'm getting an exhaust back pressure fault. Actual EBP is above desired EBP. If it wasn't winter my next steps would be to clean the turbo and then switch the #1 and #3 injectors.
HPOP maybe. That's not a bad deal of all that stuff is done and assuming that cylinder isn't fuct? Is it burning oil? Do you have to top off coolant? Is it smoking excessively?
ICP readings are normal and I haven't had any hot start issues with the truck so I don't think the HPOP is the culprit. Unfortunately I haven't had the truck long enough to know if it's burning oil. Coolant is fresh and there's no evidence of a HG problem. Oil looks normal and coolant looks normal. It is smoking a bit at idle but it's fuel smoke (definitely not coolant). It also puffs a bit of smoke if you coast then get back on the throttle.
That's really weird man. I've only had mine about 6 months. Mine started to make a little puff when I got back on the gas if it wasn't up to full temp, but when I changed the oil and added some archoil, all was well again. But u said that injector was changed. So shouldn't have stiction with that cylinder.
Turns out the recently repaired FICM was actually faulty. Truck is running good now. Should have it back from the shop soon.
