We left out Scholtz. I think he has more in him and a change would do him well. He's top 5 here so top 10 isn't that far of a reach. I hope he can find a ride from someone other than Westby. I know they are like family, but sometimes change is good.
Sounds like the budget is more for a guy happy to have the opportunity versus a guy who could ride in the series by declaring his desire to do so.
Not sure that would work with being tied to Aprilia, even if they aren't competing. But can you imagine the shit he'd stir up with ianone about who's top dog Italian.
All right, this thread has obviously run its course as a useful brainstorming session. Thanks for the serious suggestions.
Think he was mentioned earlier but I didn't see any follow up......Tom Sykes? Haven't seen much from him since his injury but once he's fully healed he seems like he'd fit your criteria? He seemed to demonstrate that he still has some gas in the tank before that gnarly crash. With a proper offseason and a good bike, I think he'd definitely be a consistent top-10 finisher.
Dovi, or Ant West for outside the box. It really sucks that beaubier isn’t on the world stage anymore. I think he’s got the talent to run up front at every level. And probably better suited for mgp or wsbk than moto2.
Dovi? Come on dude, do you think he’s unretiring for anything less than 7 figures and a full factory bike in wsbk? If a seat of that level was open do you think papa would be here asking a bunch of chuckleheads for names? dude!!!!
