They are starting to put these clusterfucks in Michigan at highway overpasses. The planners say they are more efficient. Um...no. Like you said, more stoplights to deal with. And it takes longer. And the drunks will end up going the wrong way eventually.
I like roundabouts. They are much faster than a light or a stop sign. Dumb people mess up stop signs and lights just as much as they mess up a roundabout.
that’s the stupidest of turns… west Michigan is like that…. There are no left turns anywhere just a bunch of dumb assed go an extra 1/2 mile and turn around and merge and go back another 1/2 mile and turn right…. instead of just turning left … real fucking efficient
Tell that to the town of Somerset OH... their "rotary" in the center of town has this rule- "yield to traffic on your right". So if you are in the circle you must stop to allow someone to enter. There's much gesturing going on...
Having grown up in the land of rotaries, you are wrong. Traffic circle and rotary are equally used terms, round-a-bout is a European term. Rotaries are as common as fleas on a dog where I live and never once have I ever heard them referred to as round-a-bouts.
Yeppers. I think AZ DOT uses that one for experimentation since they completely tear it up every 5 years or so. I expect a cloverleaf next.
Ohio drivers suck balls Growing up in LA I remember there being exactly one traffic circle in Long Beach on a very busy road. Yeah it was a cluterfuck. Now theyre popping up all around Cedar Rapids. The locals are getting used to them and its working well I think but we dont have heavy traffic in the first place
