Another great episode of Ask a Superbike Genius

  2. That class can be stupid dollar wise if you have deep pockets, doesn't make much sense to me with the exception of its pretty cool what the ones with deep pockets can do with them. Would seem to be cheaper to run a 600 according to my math.

Lots of variable to take into consideration:

    - Paying mechanic(s) / tuners / pit hands
    - Dyno time
    - Spare parts
    - Building motors
    - Building / buying trick parts
    - Suspension purchase
    - Suspension refresh(es)
    - Fuel for bike
    - Fuel for hauler to and from rounds
    - Food
    - Gate fees / race entries
    - Repairing the bike after crashes

    The shit adds up quick

And tires... 10 tires is ~$4,200 / round. Ugh

    TWF2 2 heads are better than 1

Think intent was builder class with limitations from day 1. They asked for input from few builders.
I think I was only one that send them email saying I don't like it and should be based on SS rules :)

$300k is absolutely retarded. Someone was syphoning money in the name of "racing".

We did Fong for a complete season, with hotels, 3 mechanics, 3 bikes, etc for $180k

But did you add up all of the following:

    - Dyno time
    - Spare parts
    - Building motors
    - Building / buying trick parts
    - Suspension purchase

While I agree Spies would be a good announcer. Didn't he kinda slag off MotoAmerica when it started up? Would paying him to announce it change his mind?

um, yea.... plus completely yard sailing 2 bikes.

it definitely adds up, but I don’t see 300k.

Twins, junior cup, and stock 1000 should have a 3 set limit, or maybe 3 fronts and 4 rears for stk100

Really don't want to start any trouble here, but I would be very surprised , maybe even shocked to see Herrin ride for Lonewrench.

On the other hand, why would they switch? Matt S is on a heck of a bike! And he loves riding in that team.

And FWIW, I probably had $5k in my superstock 650 from Suzuki Cup days, making 78hp on 160 dot's and I could have easily put that bike in the top 10 at the Road Atlanta MA race. It wouldn't have been capable of winning for sure, but I don't get some of these crazy expensive builds guys are doing on the twins.
