No such thing. What I prefer is based on what I'm doing at the time. When drinking Guinness and Irish Whisky it's usually Move Bitch followed by God Save the Queen and assorted other songs from both albums
These are live, but are not "Greatest Hits": Pat Metheny Group - The Road to You Belafante Live at Carnigie Hall (I will be surprised if anyone comes up with one older than this on their list) Wynton Marsalis And Eric Clapton Play The Blues Live From Jazz At Lincoln Center If allowing greatest hits there is only one that dominates all others: Elvis 30 #1 Hits
Fuck yes! I've always thought about what records I would try to grab from my collection in a house fire and Quadrophenia always ends up as a priority. I lean more towards the leaned out sound from Let It Be, but Abbey Road is a good one too. These two are also on my fire snatch and grab along with my box set of mono pressings. I'm also with those who don't consider DSoTM as the best PF album. I've always been more partial to their earlier stuff. I think Meddle or Atom Heart Mother would be my choice.
Off the Wall. No, The Chronic. Wait, no, All Eyez on Me. Shit, Bruce Springsteen Greatest Hits. Dammit… Fuck this. Stupid thread.
Rock & Roll? Exile on Main Street, for sure. Live? Waiting for Columbus. (Just my picks) I like Animals better than The Wall, but I'm partial, having seen the big pig live... Do you vape?
Another live album? Friday Night in San Francisco - Al Dimeola, John McLaughlin, and Paco de Lucía Maybe claiming best album is the wrong approach. I like the 'Any Good Books?' approach better....
Willie Nelson - Red Headed Stranger Marty Stuart - Pilgrim Drive By Truckers - Southern Rock Opera or The Dirty South, I can't pick between e='em. Many folks think The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds should be considered as well.
