That accident was horrible, I felt so bad for him and his family. What is very scary about Tomizawa's accident and Tommy Aquino's accident is that their crash was very similar.

I cannot believe the cornerworkers dropped Tomizawa!!

Completely non-sensical. Stop the race immediately, after something as grave as Tomizawa's crash.....

    RIP.

The reason they took a van instead of a chopper was because of all of the breathing apparatus that they needed to keep on him because they were breathing for him. If you want to go by the "read the release" theory, well, that was reported somewhere, so take it FWIW.

There are two ways to deal with traumas, they picked one and it was the right one. Stopping the race wasn't absolutely nescessary.

I'll digress, this thread isn't the right place for this discussion.

Commiserations to Shoyasan's family and friends.

It's definitely close racing, but no more so then some of the other 600-based series going on worldwide. Anyone can lowside directly in front of another racer.

The situation and timing is very sad though.

    Godspeed Tomizawa :(

Guys, I have to mention that at first I thought they did drop him. I was like what the F? But then if you look at it a couple of times, I believe the guy holding the back right side of the stretcher falls/trips in the sand trap. Of course that's when the TV camera comes back and that's why it looks like they dropped him. They weren't being careless, the one guys just falls trying to walk fast in the sand trap. Anyone else see this or am I wrong?

Isn't this exactly what happened to Craig Jones at the World Supersport Race at Brands Hatch last year?

Godspeed Tomi and all those gone before. Like Barbera's pre-MotoGP sign for Lenz: "too many".

Same thing that has ended Juan Lascorz season in WSS. 5 broken ribs, spleen and liver damage, both shoulders damaged, had to drain blood from his lungs.
    Seriously bad stuff.

According to what I saw and read when Senna died, you cannot die at a racetrack in Italy.

I guess they wait until you are out of the track before officially pronouncing you dead.

    Strange, but (apparently) true......

    RIP Shoya
