Yup, Odyssey is rated for 3500 although there’s shops that will beef them up to tow up to 10K (you see them all over RV websites) if that’s your jam.
A few years ago with the '11 Odyssey, we were heading east, back home from Yellowstone. Settled into a groove, 4 kids and wife asleep, on I-90 in South Dakota I think, trying to make good time. Tailwind, empty road, could see for miles. Cruising along at 80, the Odyssey felt real smooth. Bump up to 85, 90, 100, 105, man this thing is just cruising along, still getting an indicated upper 20s mpg. Suddenly, whoooosh, on my left a State Trooper passes by, gives the head nod. Heart skips a few beats, cold sweats, back 'er down to 85 again and carry on lol. Felt like some kind of Clark Griswold moment.
Sold my minivan after short ownership period due to the current values and making a profit off the deal. Bought a full size, diesel motovan. GF misses the minivan so much she's wanting to switch her car out to get another one.
My buddy did the same thing. They had a minivan since '04. Traded it in for a Highlander. That lasted seriously less than 4 months and went right back to a minivan. He was like 1/2 the space is BS in a similar size body. And well, don't have to worry about kids opening the door in a parking lot, etc.
LOL. Our Millennial next door neighbor swore she would NEVER, and I mean NEVER own a mini-van. Then their Tahoe crapped out. They have 3 kids under 9 YO. I suggested they at least look at on...the first time they put the child seats in through the sliding doors they converted. Now she wouldn't take anything else.
If you are so insecure that the thought of driving a minivan makes you cringe, I fear there is no hope for you.
