You know there are a bunch of fools with no musical taste that are easily separated from their money.
Music is such a personal thing... I think BE's and Finneas' music is phenomenal. I dislike a lot of other stuff currently trending... Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, any of the Drake, hip hop stuff. Hate all the new corp CW, but like the CW from 10-20 years ago. Liked Adele at first, but now can't stand her. Well, BE is doing something right... she's blown away all the Grammy records. She seems to appeal to a very broad audience.
Meh...the Grammys reflect self congratulatory music insiders' choices. People like what they like, popular isn't a great judge of quality...consider the Macarena song.
It's the Oscar's for music. An industry mastubatory event that is nothing more than the industry trying to make you believe any of what they say matters.
A fun list of most streamed artists of all time: https://chartmasters.org/most-streamed-artists-ever-on-spotify/
A list that only exists after streaming was a thing. This is the goat argument for music. A differnt set of names for a different time.
I would argue that with the advent of streaming, people are spending more minutes per day listening to music than they did, in say, the 80's.
That's the one great thing about music. There is really no playbook or right or wrong way to do it. There is something for everyone, and everybody has different tastes.
