Has anyone told A certain someone what place AM (who shouldn’t be in motogp) finished?

 

You forgot the data scientist here who somehow knows more than Marc and HRC about fitness to ride, risk assessment, and long-term goals.

That was what, two-three laps, then Rossi clearly opened up some track between him and the guy behind him. From that point, it was Vinales that was "holding up" the Ducs.

Seriously, go back and re-watch the race. (when you're sober).

 

Rossi is so magnificent that he can hold up riders nine seconds behind him.

 

The same was said about Rossi last weekend after he "quit" halfway through the race. Dovi will be back.

Don't forget, about 15 seconds behind Nakagami on a year old satellite bike. I wonder if HRC gives performance bonuses for finishing 8th?

That’s called a starting grid. It’s designed to have everyone take positions in conjunction with where they qualified (we’ll explain qualifying to you in a later episode).


Then there are lights that go out and everyone starts racing. Typically in the beginning of a race, riders that all start feet from each other are bumping and swapping positions through the first few corners. That’s not holding anyone up. That’s called lap 1

 

Lap 1 makes my stomach hurt, whether watching or participating. It really hurt when my kid was the one I was watching.

 

That first corner when everyone dives in there at full charge is always a bit scary.

that’s why I usually grid up at the back.

It was more than 2-3 laps, and I saw the same thing when I just re-watched it, but any way you call it Rossi was blocking faster riders who should have passed him.
