All you wanted was the government to mandate that insurance companies had to allow pre-existing conditions and cap prices? You might want to consult the conservative handbook before you make these posts. Ah fuck it, Trump promised an end to Obamacare so it must be so, how’s all that socialism working out for you?
Also before all the cultists respond, I also think Obamacare is unconstitutional. But where’s your orange boy? 3 years in when he promised everything to fix Obamacare. How’s that working out for you?
That is communism to a TEE... I read your story and I hear you loud and clear, my heart goes out to you. Obamacare is all around unconstitutional and when that was known, they changed the wording to make it a "tax" and it is an atrocity what it did to sooo many people. Price capping though IS a form of communism and is not a solution to any problem (ask Venezuela who put price caps on oil and fuel how that went). In theory it all sounds great but in the long run it will only have negative effects. We would be much better off if insurance companies worked for their customers rather than working for the health care industry. If that were the case then the insurance companies would negotiate with hospitals, health care specialist and drug companies to get the cheapest prices possible (this would keep premiums low for the public but high enough so that the health industry can make a profit in order to reinvest and continue to develop). The problem with all this now is that it takes far more than just government to make all the changes necessary to have a positive impact due to previous laws and taxes that have already been passed. Also, just because something is good for one person does not mean it will be good for all people. There is no ideal way to make policies because no matter what is decided, it will have some positive and some negative impacts on the populace as a whole.
My fucking god no. Not what I said at all. Please go back and reread. Said nothing even remotely close to what you interpreted.
It’s working amazingly. I now don’t have to pay a $1500 a year unconstitutional tax. My meds have come down significantly since he’s been in office. And now with hospitals and big pharma about to have to show what they charge and sell their products for, you’ll see costs continue to go down.

I’m not aware of any state that set up an exchange having any level of continued success or lasting impact other than wasting $billions in tax payer monies. I know the two exchanges in Iowa both closed down after experiencing hundreds of $millions in loses. Not to mention the extra cost and burden placed upon employers who also wasted their own resources and money. Keep spinning it however you like but it was a monumental failure that had a far greater negative impact on people then the people it benefited.
From how I understand the tax was ruled constitutional thus the reason it was attached to ACA in the first place because they knew it would provide a measure of cover over the entire ACA. IIRC the tax portion has been eliminated/separated clearing the way for the ACA to be ruled unconstitutional. Not positive on all of this. Just putting pieces together from memory so not sure.
Easy, now. Keep in mind that he’s used to “his guy” doing everything through executive order, and the activist courts bending over and allowing every bit of it. How this stuff was actually supposed to work doesn’t compute, apparently.
IIRC, the act, as written, referred to the charge as a penalty which several lower courts ruled to be unconstitutional. Roberts ruled that is was a tax and thus within Congress's power to enact.
Sen Rand Paul is not amused. "If we are to go to war w/ Iran the Constitution dictates that we declare war. A war without a Congressional declaration is a recipe for feckless intermittent eruptions of violence w/ no clear mission for our soldiers. Our young men and women in the armed services deserve better."
Stop trying to get this back on topic...read that like 50 people were killed at scumbag's funeral. Hell, the idiots can't even mourn without violence. The three days of mourning are technically over but he hasn't been planted yet so wondering when Iran will retaliate? Interesting Iran has said they want the response to come directly from their military and not a proxy. I also read an interesting article comparing the fall of USSR to the current situation in Iran. There might be a lot more at stake for the mullahs than just saving face.
Same place Obama was in getting it passed - president can't do shit, this crapfest is all on Congress.
