Yeah, I've never thought of the RZ motor as being a square four config. I've never heard anyone refer to that way, also.
Mark Morrow is the proud new owner as of last Wednesday. He raced it at Barber this past weekend and loved every minute of it.
Quick research found this, nixed my previous post. This discussion is basically boiled down to the angle of each bank of cylinders to the other to determine whether you call it a V or a Square.
Just to be pedantic, the assembly on the left is the lower / front crank; note the alternator taper to the left. The right unit is the upper / rear crank; note the blank end on the left.
Mark, Do you actually know anything about racing 2 strokes? I can fill you in as I have crashed RD350's, RD400's and RZ350s. I have also ridden an RZ500.
Apparently quite well. There's lot's of room for the lump, with enough elbow room for a bigger rad. Brackets and chambers are of course full custom. If an actual RZ350 engine isn't handy (they're starting to get thin on the ground), a Banshee engine with Cheetah Cub PV cyls will do the job and add a bit more displacement.
