I attended the Fall 2019 Slimey Crud Run in Pine Bluff WI, and Leland WI. All types of bike, 1000's in attendance. All in mint or near mint shape. But one of the most rare bikes that caught my attention, and I saw him ride into Leland also, Was this RG500. Not knowing exactly what it was, as it had 4 seperate silencers, on expansion chambers coming out the back. I looked under the fairing edge, and I had never seen an enging set up like that before. I looked it up, and it's a square 4, etc. They made an RG400, and RG500 too. Both for 2 or three years, etc.
I have two Yamaha V4 two stroke bikes - one Canadian market; one Japan domestic only market with aluminum frame. https://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/yamaha/yamaha_rzv 500lc.htm
Most of the RG500s I've seen on the street were white with blue stripes. That one has aftermarket pipes.
Find a V4 two stroke that ISN'T a square four... Nature of the beast, I don't think you could make a single crank V4 smoker that was narrower than the same design as an inline four.
People refer to square 4 smokers as V4 all the time. I've yet to see an ACTUAL single crank V4, but lots of variations of twin crank 'square' fours. If there is an actual single crank V4 smoker out in the wild please point me to it, in the mean time expect the existing square fours to get lumped into the v4 umbrella by most people.
I'm a Yamaha guy and would have loved to own an RZ500 V4 2T but, the RG500 was a superior bike back in the day.
I want your hybrid and when I decide Raina doesn’t need to go to college, I’m heading south with cash.
