Isn't Florida where they had mud/bog races a few years ago on TV?

You're removing some really fun cars from the list then.

Get a few year old Porsche Cayman S. Well under your budget and the word is they're a hoot to drive. Here's one my daughter brought home the other day. I've never gotten to drive one and it's her company car! Damn kids

I work out of my car at times, so this won't work unfortunately

Still have my truck, but was thinking about getting a car to play around with, so when Kurtis (r6boater) put his Mini Cooper S up for sale I jumped on the chance. Its small enough and quick enough to not miss riding.

Cayman S is an option. What years should I look at? Anything to avoid?

I was in your situation after selling my V and Exocet to finish my basement. When the basement was finished, I ended up buying a Viper. It's an older one (1997), but it is the one I had a poster of on my wall growing up. Plus, I can easily work on it since it doesn't really have any fancy computers. This thing is RAW. So if you're looking for comfort, look elsewhere.

Well, she's the newest salesman on the floor so not sure how low she can go:D But all joking aside, I believe anything 08 and newer avoids the dreaded IMS bearing issue. I have a friend that used to be a motorcycle racer of some renown that swears by the Cayman S in all respects...street and track.

Get a Cayman or a Boxster. Maybe a 911 if you can find a good deal. If you deal with traffic get whatever they call their auto now. It's better than most manual transmissions anyway.
