Sorry I can't resist.......if .5 or .6 is close, does that mean you've also slept with a few supermodels, while driving your Lambo?
Haha, that just doesn't even make sense... Half a second is pretty damn close, especially at RRR. Hookers and a Lambo for a honky living on the Eastside of Nashville would be a flat out lie.... haha!
OOOOOOOORRRRRR The 16 years or so in technology development between the two. The competition for the SV are the CB650 and 650R. Neither are even close to them in competition. As are the FZ07’s with more cc’s and still don’t match the SV’s power stock for stock.
Yamaha knew this and had to be clowns and make it 690cc instead of 650cc like Suzuki and Kawi. Same with R3, couldn't be cool and make it a 300 like CBR and Ninjette.
What exactly is your point? Show me where ONE single Parallel twin has more HP than a V Twin. I could give two shits about character. I am talking about HP per cc.
My point is that there are so few bikes to make that comparison that it's not valid. I'm sure there's people smart enough here to provide a good answer to the question, and you and I are not them.
Of COURSE it's valid. Of the 650 twins out there, none put out more horsepower than the V Twin SV650 motor configuration. As to why that is? not sure, but the engineer in me says that it would be because of the opposing firing order? In that case possibly a Box engine may put out even more. But it Uuuuge I tell ya. I know Uge and that Boxer BMW engine is Ugeee
The CCS race I was at that I mentioned a few pages back was won by Trey Yonce on a superbike SV doing several 1:15.8's. A second rider on another superbike SV was on his ass. I hanged on my hybrid for a lap or two but couldn't keep pace. My best was a 1:16.8.
