Sharps .50 or Spencer .56, if you are going for historical accuracy and a broken shoulder. Otherwise -06 or .300 Win mag. Handgun maybe a .445 Dan Wesson. I always thought my old gunsmith's .45-70 revolvers would be fun to try too.
I thought you got the meat, but not the head or hide? I read it a couple days ago and am too lazy to reread it.
Gonna donate the meat to tribes? Let them hunt the fucking bison. Sounds like a fucking disgrace...qualifying some asshole as a hunter if he can hit a pie plate five times at 200yds? Thats pathetic marksmanship. Real fucking pathetic. Yeah. Let's be humane about it and let these dickheads make gut shots, blow out legs and, basically, just maim the fuckers 'til they bleed to death. It's disgraceful.
That's what I thought too about the marksmanship, hell my nephews don't have any problem hitting the steel chickens in the head at 200 meters with their 22's if it isn't windy. They don't know they're not supposed to able to do that with a .22
Curious if you think they could do it at 200 meters. . .after stalking for a couple of miles. . .carrying the .22's. . .additional gear. . .on chickens that can move at any second. . .with no practice shots?
++ on the 45-70 but go old school and use a trap door Springfield., none of the new fangled Ruger's, Henry's or Marlins.
If you want the meat, just buy a calf, raise it and take it to slaughter when ready. Just like any other cattle. Lots of them ranched around these parts, and the meat is most excellent.
30-06 .308 if you're really good with shot placement. 300win mag 300WSM .338 lapua .50BMG At 200 yard with a scope you should have no problem hitting any part of the animal
NERF Accustrike Raptorstrike Blaster 18 soft darts bolt action extendable bi pod,and pop up sights 2 six dart clips Then tickle the shit out of it once its on the ground
.45-70, open sights at less than 100 yards. Anything else would be chicken shit. Excepting if the course the pencil, or penis methods mentioned above. A friend of mine has access to a private shooting range. I took my .45-70 carbine there to shoot it. The owner told me he din't allow artillery on his range.
