That figure is low, even for "average" people. The number for the average person is about 30g. Larger people who lift a lot (people with more muscle mass) have a higher protein synthesis rate; so that number is higher. Some workout supplements can also increase your rate of protein synthesis. For example, Ronnie Coleman (7-time Mr Olympia) took in ~100+g of protein after workouts (all at once). But Coleman hovered around 300lbs. Personally, I take in ~35-50g at a time (50g immediately after my workout), then 35-40g other times during the day. Something that also has to be considered is the size of the molecules of the protein (which affects how long it takes them to break down into amino acids and enter the bloodstream). Taking in 50-60g of Whey Isolate will be a waste because it breaks down too fast and your body won't be able to utilize all of it. But right before bed, I'll take in 60g consisting primarily of Casein protein (which takes up to 6hrs to break down, so you get a steady stream of amino acids). That helps prevent your body from entering a catabolic state while you sleep, and reduces DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness).
Okay - if this turns into another Broome telling everyone his intake and workout routines I'm nuking it. All that shit is in plenty of other threads...
I like the turkey spam. I believe the Hawaiians get some versions of Spam that aren't marketed elsewhere. But every single Hawaiian I know loves Spam. Spam and rice for breakfast is a real thing there.
My favourite Ronnie Coleman video is when he keeps saying. "Everybody wants to be a bodybuilder but nobody wants to lift these heavy ass weights"
I checked the price of Highlife at Walmart and 2 bottles amounting to 104 ounces is $7 compared to a 128-ounce gallon of whole milk for $1.49. No.
Yeah, I think the bottles are like $3.50 each. BUT, if you compare it to the bottles of protein drinks (Muscle Milk, etc), it's much cheaper.
Is it actual meat? Meaning is it all chicken, or beef? Or is it a mixture of all kinds of bullshit like those cans Potted Meat?
Per can, 32 grams of fat, 1580 mg sodium per can. 360 calories. Over 8 billion cans of Spam have been sold. There are 15 different varieties of Spam. In Southeast Asia, Spam is given as a luxury gift. Guam residents consume an average of 16 cans each yearly. Hawaii eats 7 million cans of Spam per year. Spam Jam is Hawaii's largest festival every year. Over 100 million pounds of Spam was consumed by troops during WWII. There are 12.8 cans of Spam consumed every second of the day. Spam is sold in 44 countries. It would take 415,469,599 cans of Spam to circle the earth at the equator (lining them up, not eating them). Is Spam fun or what?
It is at Aldi's. $1.49 a gallon, any kind. Eggs $.69 a dozen. Boneless chicken breast $1.69 a pound. They have some good buys there.
