Awesome finish. Hayden was riding the wheels off that bike, but looked to be gapped pretty bad on the straights.
A 2nd and a 3rd for Ortt while riding with a broken hand, kid's tough! Great job everyone, experience of a lifetime!!
So can all of the dingbats that were shit-talking MotoAmerica and this racing class before the season started come in here and admit that this definitely did not suck?
Went back and reread the thread. A couple posts jumped out at me Road America - 28 entries Barber - 31 entries Miller - 32 entries Laguna Seca - 28 entries NJMP - 38 entries Looks like Chip was right again. How many other classes had 5 riders competing against riders from all over the world this year? Mazz and Sean Kelly ended up doing pretty good!!!! As did Braeden!
At the start it was like some people had to be talked off the cliff! Oh, it should have been an R3. Oh, the bike is no good. Oh, it can't possible work! KTM proposed and backed the series. MotoAmerica did a deal with them. Looks like it's working great! Congrats to all the participants, to the series, and to KTM!
A podium photo is supposed to be displaying with that post. Our website host has been moving everything to a much larger server and we've been having all sorts of problems all weekend. Apologies...
What's interesting/weird is that they did the nation of the series and not of the rider ... Kelly was Mexico Ortt was USA...
I asked abt that earlier. Kelly is 13, too young for the MA series. But eligible in MX. So he ran the MX series, didn't even know they were ruing the series in MX.
