Not wanting to put him down but qualifying and racing are totally different-we all know that. How many guys have qualified well then finished mid pack? too many too count.

Yeah but it shows he can run the times. I don't see him having a problem with the racing part. I think he'll prove he can dice it up with the world's best just fine in the first race...

 

Sorry to bust your theory......but can we not recall Spies qualifying a majority of the time with the fastest lap time in both '07 and '08 and I seem to recall that he won quite a few races....ohhh yea, and the championships as well.

I think he has a proven record of not only qualifying well, but also finishing at the front in races.

Just my $0.02

 

Spies looked good in free qualification and not to shaby in 1st qualification.

He is not my favorite but I think he has a great chance to make the USA proud :up:
