Would you by the 2010 BMW 1000 RR if it was the same price as the GSXR 1000, R1 , Honda 1000, or the ZX10. Or would you wait a little while to let it develop a little more? What do you ride and why do you think its the best bike for you.
Frankly, BMW's have gone downhill since the 1975--1985 airheads...I had to put a driveshaft in a 2002 R1150R after 20,000 mi. because the seals had failed; My friend and OTL writer Bob Higden had a new F650/800 GS twin which fried it's stator in 25,000 mi. [he just bought a new Honda NT700V....]
And I had to replace my first wife because she didn't work either. Doesn't mean all wives are bad. OBTW, 15,000 miles on my oilhead so far with only a new clutch other than the usual oil, fuel and tires.
so is the new bike worth the money!! And is it expensive to maintain or is it about the same as the jap bikes...
riding one will turn you into a pinko commie nazi fag. I know a guy this happened to. true story. :wow:
You know I am not to crazy about the BMW for some reason. All those HP number and price still does get me up. Now the one I'd wait for is the RSV4, or keep my 05 GSXR 1000 which still is the best pound for pound bike to date!
Absolutely..the BMW or the Aprilia RSV4 are the only way to go right now. Unless you're buying an R6. Nothing Japanese really does anything for me right now.
I'm a little confused. The bike is already winning all the shootouts in the magazines out there (includiing this year's Masterbike) and its in the lead in the Superstock 1000 class. ......AND a price drop so that it was the same as the Jap 4. Question would be, why wouldn't you buy it if it did all did AND was cheaper to boot.
