I figured there might be a few modern singles or twins racers at the Jennings event next week.

There's been a discussion on the AHRMA yahoo group that might impact modern bikes with AHRMA at Jennings. The new belly pan rule with AHRMA requires that you oil absorbent material even if you have an oil retaining belly pan.

    See notes below

"Nah man, I didn't crash when my engine belched it's oil. I crashed from the kitty litter coming out of my belly pan onto the rear tire."

Interesting. What are they looking at, an enigine oil diaper in the pan?

I read it as a rule for the 2-strokes or dry sump bikes
9.3 f) Oil containment. Oil containment systems are required on all roadracing machines. Oil containment pans on wet-sump engines must be designed to hold the capacity of the engine sump with nominal reserve. Material used must be durable, fastened safely and removable for inspection if required. The pan must have a retaining dam at the rear.

From what I understand 2-stroke and dry sump can run the oil absorbent material held in place with screen wire (I assume like window screen material) and no real belly pan.

Wet sump 4-stroke motors have to run a belly pan plus the absorbent material.

This is one-step beyond any other racing club in the US and the reason why I posted it here. There will be many modern guys failing tech because they don't have diaper material in their belly pans.

They need to make it writing....because it does not say wet sump systems must use the diaper system too. Even the 2-stroke dry sump says belly pan ,OR diaper sysytem not you must use both

    YAM#849 y'all watch this...

I still maintain that a diaper on a two stroke (that gets its jets changed between practices) is a fire hazard.

I agree with you. However, Tim Lile is the head tech guy with AHRMA and he says every bike must have the diaper material.

Cool. I won't be in Florida for Jennings, but am planning on racing AHRMA at Mid-Ohio.

    Thanks for the input.

    Re: material

I have received several e-mails looking for the hydrocarbon specific pads. This is a generic response to where you may obtain some.

You can purchase this product in several different forms ie. sheets, rolls & "socks".

I will give you several different sources but there are many more.

    www.newpig.com
    www.mcmaster.com
    www.callforaction.com

    You should pay approximatly $35.00 for 100 sheets 18" x 18"

Of course like Bruce said Tech should have Some

    Good luck in your search.
