You know you can drive around the south and see shit rotted out boats for damn near free and very little danger.
"carbon-fibre submersible" This raises 2 questions: 1. What's the shear, compressive and modulus of elasticity of carbon fiber, not to mention the permeability of such a product? Doesn't seem like the 1st product I'd grab for when building a subfukinmarine 2. What's the advantage of being made of a lighter material when 3 miles under the surface, anyway?
There's a civil war submarine I used to check out when I went in bike rides that led me behind the museum here in Columbia, SC. I never even had to hold my breath to check it out. It's been moved now. I will not be going on that trip.
What's the advantage of seeing that shit in person when you can watch the video of some other dumb motherfucker that spend $250k to see that shit wagon in 12k' of water?
There's a reason scuba tanks are made of metal. Salt water under pressure is not friendly to carbon fiber.
They had me at bolted in from the outside. Like WTF? But when they aren’t answering their messages and are days late surfacing….at that depth it’s game over man.
I don't understand the goal, but hopefully some government with stupid amounts of funding can pull off a rescue You know you're too rich when you spend a quarter million.......to die
I think that it would be bitchin to dive to tens of thousands of feet below sea level. Probably not in a CF submarine, and definitely not to a mass grave... but maybe a titanium hulled one with foot-think acrylic portholes to look out of to somewhere wicked deep. Maybe with those chimney vents with weird shit living around them. Didn't that dude that made Avatar use some of his FU money to dive to the bottom of the Marianas Trench? That's what I'm talking about. YOLO.
only way you getting me into one of those things is if this guy is involved.. Or the inside looks like this..
I'm only going down 10,000 ft if there's a ship above us.... With a winch And we're on the other end of the cable Now, seeing as we cant even hit the bottom of our own ocean properly..... please convince me we landed on the moon half a century ago with Jack shit for technology
