Anyone have any experience with the toy hauler trailers? Good, bad, or indifferent? These are the ones that you can haul a couple of bikes in but have sleeping quarters, kitchen, bathroom, etc. We looked at a Thor Wanderer 21 foot trailer. It is a standard hitch trailer (not fifth wheel). Just wondering if they are worth the $$$$$
No I haven't, but I can see that it would be a very good idea if you are going to be away from home that much. And can't campers be used as a second home for a tax break?
Have you looked at living quarters built into regular trailers rather than cargo space built into and RV type trailer? The WERA trailer is a Cargo Mate that has 19ft of living quarters and 29 ft of cargo space and we love it. I know Mary Spies has a 5th wheel version that she and Ben have been traveling in and they really like it.
Not all of us have the money that WERA does!!!! The problem is that there aren't a whole lot of them out there for sale. Know of any?
Check out the new ones - greatest part is that you can get much. much longer loans on the RV's than normal trailers. The WERA trailer was $34k, over 15 years it's less that what Evelyne I spent on motel rooms for the year - the extra money from the room budget goes to pay off the loan earlier. We also throw any other extra money at it when we can but it keeps tha main payment amount low for the off season when the cash flow ain't flowing so good. Another thing that helps racers (but doesn't do us any good) is the RV can be written off as a second home. Anyway - check out the new stuff, there is a guy over in Bama that I talked to about some contingency stuff, I'll hunt down his name and website the next time I'm in the office and let oyu know (I think trailer contingency would be way cool).
Pretty tricky Mongo. The all mighty has done some editing. The trailer contingency is a great idea. Back in the day when I was renting a U-Haul trailer to haul the bike for every race weekend, I considered approaching them about sponsorship. You see a few of them at the track. Maybe if they paid a contingency there would be more. When you get that info please send it to me, and I will give that guy a call. Thanks...
Nope more like land sales = small $ = DRZ400.... I had my choice - cheaper or none so guess which way I went (I will have that black and silver one some day damnit!)
While we are on the subject, what is the name of the graphics company that everyone uses in the Atlanta area for trailer graphics? I think that WERA and Traxxion both use them, Mongo?
Yup, that would be Robbo. Hold on, I'll go get his number off of the trailer...... Okay, it's 770-886-8150
