Yeah yeah, CCS directed question on the WERA forum, I know. I've posted on the CCS forum too but... by the time I get a response humanity may not exist any more. What are the top speeds people are hitting on E SS/Clubman class machines, or 500 SS/SB in CCS speak at CMP, NJMP, Summit and NC Bike?
Top speed at any point on the track in MPH. Laptimes / avg speed I can easily see in the results. I found a vid with some data from what I think is an AM rider on an FZR400 in CCS 500SS showing a peak of 125mph at NJMP. He's got a Summit vid too showing 120 at the end of the front straight too.
i'm not super knowledgeable about WERA classes, but it would be A Super Sport. Summit's straight is a mile long. my V8 MW has done over 140 MPH in the rain there.
Top MPH speed on our FZRs in 500ss at Summit, no idea, only lap times. Who’s video is it?…….out of curiosity. I can’t imagine going that fast at NJ. Is that an average speed that CCS is showing between combined classes? We’ve seen it look all mixed up before……….made some of us look good on paper
Eric Lovetri and his vids from 2019. Speeds are from a RaceChrono Pro so I dunno how accurate they are, but fairly certain my 500 XC W geared to hit the limiter at 121mph isn't going to hang. I don't think it'll pull that tall a setup.
Probably 120mph max. I hit somewhere around 110 on my R3 at Jennings GP, and that's limited by the bike and not the length of the straight. A proper E SS machine would be approaching 120 me thinks. Take what I say with a grain of salt though cause I'm kinda dumb.
Most tracks are big enough to hit top speed on the straight. Look at some junior cup trap speeds and deduct 10mph to account for squish
