I'm putting together a '77 RD400 to contest in WERA RD series.Vintage racing is a new venue of racing for me.I need advice on what tires to use. Will radial tubeless tires work on stock mag rim made for tube bias tires? Are there any websites that will help me in building, tuning, parts etc?Can I run body work under WERA rules?Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

YamahaFan runs Daytona mags and Dunlop KR's with no tube... it works. You may run bodywork in F-500 and Formula 2 stroke, not in Formula-RD...I assume Avons work without a tube on those wheels as well.

Both Dunlop and Avon are the tires of choice for 18" Vintage tires.

I run daytona Wheels tubeless but Dunlop has the only front that is sized properly for the RD and is tubless.

Lyn Garland at Vintage Specialties is a great (highly reputable) resource for parts, tips and work on RD's and he is an Avon dealer.
