17 kids 9 months pregnant Total of 12 years 9 months pregnant during her life (no multiple kids during any pregnancy that im aware of).
When I was working on my family genealogy I noticed that it wasn't unusual to have 8-10 kids in the average family. One of the reasons for that is they expected to lose a few to illness, so maybe the same thing is going on now but the illness is lead poisoning.
My grandmother had 15 kids with my grandfather. Different times/place, as they were farmers and had crops, etc. I have 30+ first cousins, but my son is the only one of the next generation (I guess that would be 4th gen) that carries the same last name as them. All the others are girls or have their Dad's last name.

The family I am referencing had kids mid 70s through the 80s. No farm. I think a 4 bedroom house in our suburban neighborhood. Father was a pharmacist IIRC.
It is quite possible that if there actually is a Hades, that my eternal damnation will be spent at a chalkboard in front of a group of children. I can not conceive of a more horrid fate. So.... No.
