2023 F1 Records set by Verstappen F1’s highest percentage of wins in a season F1’s most wins in a season F1’s most consecutive wins F1’s only driver to win three times in one country during a single season F1’s most wins from pole in a season F1’s most consecutive wins from pole position F1’s most hat-tricks in a season F1’s most points in a season F1’s most podiums in a season F1’s most consecutive top two finishes F1’s most laps led in a season F1’s highest percentage of laps led in a season F1’s most pitstops by the winning driver in one race F1’s biggest points gap between first and second in the championship F1’s most races left in a season before championship win F1’s most consecutive points scored Highest percentage points difference between first and second in championship F1’s most consecutive races as championship leader The gap between Verstappen and Perez in points was greater than the gap between Perez and Sargeant, final points scorer. Yeah, having 22 races in a season helps when in the past it was 10, 16, 18...rounds.
Its a lot easier to set records like that when you have the most races ever in a season... not saying it isn't impressive, but theres a lot more opportunity. Lewis would probably have some of those too in Merc's dominant era if he had 23 races.
Lewis might have had some of those too until this season with Max. Lewis never dominated a season like that. Hell, one year his teammate won a championship.
There's no comparison in the quality of team mates he's had. Even in a dominant car, that splits the wins.
Not saying that but... Alonso > Perez Button > Perez Rosberg > Perez Bottas > Perez and I'm already comfortable saying Russell > Perez

I made about 10 laps then had to bail out on the race. I was watching on my DVR and jsut skipped to the last lap then turned it off.
A friend of mine may do the same comments. Were you guys watching that alternate broadcast that was mentioned by someone a few months ago?
ESPN over here didn't show it live but 830 pm EST on Sunday night and I thought it was joke having kids call the races like were 20yr vets of F1.
I agree. I'm just wondering if Max is that good or if his car is that much better than Sergio's. Sometimes Perez looks brilliant, sometimes he has that deer in the headlight look. Max has to be in the conversation as best ever.
I think it's a combination of he is that much better than Sergio and they are always going to designed cars that suit him best (overseer vs. understeer, for instance). If it doesn't work for Sergio, he is fucked.
What's that got to do with anything? I responded about the spectators and suing. The sanctioning body/stewards enforced the rules per the rulebook. Yep it sucks but I can absolutely see not leaving anything rules related in F1 up to common sense.
I was talking about F1 should have been using force majeure to not enforce a 10 spot grid penalty for your car getting destroyed by a loose drain cover. We all know that merc wanted the penalty so that they had the best opportunity to finish second in the constructor’s championship.
