TGP - Superbike A - 2/24/2013 (Ben Kirby's crash video)

    Here is the footage from my bike where Ben Kirby crashed during the Superbike A race.

    If you watch it till the end you can see the pictures of his X-rays

    I was like damn that dude corners low. Then he almost ran Over his own Leg. LoL.

    Looks like his peg or rearset broke off. In the slo-mo you can definitely see something depart the bike.

    There has to be some explanation as to why his foot came off. Ouch! Best wishes Ben! Excellent avoidance skills Shannon!

    I think it was the toe slider off the boot...

    His explanation on Facetubes: "PS, I lost the rear while giving it gas... Hazards of riding a powerful a 1000. My feet didn't slip off the pegs"

    Looking at that in SLowmo it was the opposite of above.... Hope he heals up well....

    I've always safety wired the foot peg bolt (Vortex) after having mine come loose even with loctite. Toe guard did it's job or bound him up?

    You coming to Roebling next month? I'll be re-joining the fray starting then. Just now getting the bike completely together and my hand functioning properly.

    im not sure yet , when i will get to race this year . i hope soon , but i have a lot going on outside of racing right now . i am going nuts ,jonesing for some tracktime

    I have had a foot peg bracket break and I crashed because of it.. sucks.

    I don't have mine on video, but it was exactly the same as this. I change the brackets more often now, even when they have not hit the pavement I swap them every season. Cheap insurance.

    that peg totally broke off. That has to be so scary and unfair!

    Without a doubt that peg snapped. I've seen it happen in that same place with a set of Gilles at one of our track days.
