Looking at a 999 for the street. Seller stated belts were changed and valves adjusted during the last service. However , when I spoke to the actual shop, they stated the bike also had sweating valve covers that were not addressed. The seller did not disclose this service visit. Bike has around 9k for mileage. How serious is this on Ducs?

If you have the opportunity to change I would, I don't mind oil sweat I know what it is and know to keep a check on oil level. That being said I would not want oil sweat to get worse and make it to drive belts so on that model would probably change them. The rubber has probably just hardened up with age.

Thanks. Yea this was an issue identified in 2016. So he’s put quite a few miles on it since. It’s too far to drive to check things out in person. I may pass on this bike ....

Valve cover gaskets are cheap and very easy to change. Don’t pass on a clean 10yr old bike because the cancer cover gaskets leak.
