I have convinced Marchesini to do a run of rears for the SV650. Do you guys think there is enough market for them? No machine work required, just a straight fitment using stock brake hanger and caliper. Also would you run mags or aluminum? 1st gen or 2nd?
You are talking things exclusive to the SV. You should also be posting the question on SVrider, and maybe sport-touring.net.
In the 6 years I've been on ST.N...first time I've seen it as a place to post for SV specific things. Nice!
Those are Marvic not Marchesini. Yes there is history between the two companies but they are no where near the same wheel.
I've heard the forged magnesium's can be a little um "flexable". If people think a forged mag will be strong enough than that'd be something I'd be willing to think about.
Aaronson bought a MARCHESINI or MARVIC rim for our "A" bike on our multi-SV endurance team that we are racing this year. He knows of these wheels. Bike #23 (white plates) with the white rear. Not much of a pic, but its there. 'sup Aaron? MILLER here we come!!
You all know there is a SV/GSXR rear rim kit that a guy from SV RIDER makes also? He was selling them on ebay for $250. You get the rim, the machined spacers and caliper bracket, etc.. I was looking for a link, but gotta go to work.
You may want to check that, I was under the impression that for the $250 you received the spacer kit, bracket, and machine work to YOUR rim. I looked into it and went with a F3 rim off Ebay for $75. I will do some digging.
