Off the weed topic. I have finally become familiar with back door Roth IRAs. I spent way too much time researching after I almost made a costly tax error. My question is, how are they legal? The tax code was written to limit Roth IRA contributions so "the rich" couldn't use them. Then what? Tax law was added to allow a back door for anyone? Hell, my chosen online brokerage firm makes the whole transaction a couple button clicks to do. Why not just change the Roth IRA laws, to allow anyone to contribute directly? Why make us fill out another tax form and add tax basis calcs that can catch you out if you don't do the transactions just right. I.e start and end each year with zero balance in your traditional IRA account after converting every dollar you added that year.
Are you really asking why politicians changed the rules to benefit rich folks??? That's like job #1...
No, I'm asking why they didn't just eliminate the Roth IRA income limit, instead of adding a backdoor.
I can't imagine it being any better than Walgreens, and that shit has been stinking up my portfolio for some time
No..the 30% plummet is all on her. They need to run her ass off. That place is now high school with more expensive cheerleaders.
