Couple of things that I was remiss in not mentioning.

A decent place to purchase PMs is reddit pmsforsale. Pick a seller who has a bunch of positive feedback.

Also, if you are like most of us and want to actually hold your silver in your hand, a reasonable option is pre-1965 90% US coins. You can usually get them for reasonably close to spot prices if you shop around. They are also less likely to be faked than 10 ounce bars bought peer-to-peer.

The way I see it: if you are looking for big, quick gains and can risk your money, go to Vegas the odds are better. If you are looking long-term, buy solid stocks and offset with some.I-Bonds.

 

Yeah maybe ... I'm kinda concerned about I-Bonds these days... I own them too, but if the FDIC is using .gov bonds to insure all our bank accounts, and they're going upside down, wtf are I-bonds gonna be worth for real later on!?
