Race tire or not a race tire?

I recently got a good deal on a GT750 4LS drum brake laced to an Excel rim. It's got fresh spokes and VB racing linings on the shoes. It's got a fresh Avon AM20 (90/90-18) Roadrunner on it. The seller said it was a race tire but the other Avons I've had all have the "For racing use only" blurb molded into them. This one does not. Instead it's got the load rating and pressure suggestions just like a street tire. Plus it's got the DOT info molded into the side wall. I'm pretty sure this is a street tire but I thought I would check with some of the experts here....

    Thanks,

    Jim

Sounds like a street tire, my race tires do not have DOT info. If it is a race tire you should be able to find 11376M printed on the tire. This is the race compound code.
