In WERA, not likely...not for quite a few years. The “all new” R6 still has the same frame and motor as the previous R6. They did make some changes to the electronics, different forks, and I believe different rotors. But unless somebody is running a lap record pace, those small changes won’t make a big difference. Which is why the previous generation R6 continued to run up front all over the world, even after the new one came out. Seeing how a 2006-2020 R6 is still capable of winning at the Club level, I don’t see this affecting the SS grids for some time. .02
Wouldn’t be an R6 equivalent but I’d love to see Yamaha put together an FZ07R model: 10lbs less 10hp more Racier ergos Leftover R6 boingers TFT dash and electronics. be a great streetbike that would compete with the new Ape RS660.
True, and I’ve heard this for years, but if a modern R1M or similar costs 23k and used to cost 14k, then surely an awesome cutting edge 600 can be made for 14k now right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
if they're gonna do this, how about make a "GYTR" upgrade that is a 500 CC 2 stroke twin. just sayin.
