Tech Talk - The Terrible Throttle Tell-All https://oxleybom.buzzsprout.com/2181509/14349051-tech-talk-the-terrible-throttle-tell-all Fascinating stuff!
Portimao. More good stuff. https://oxleybom.buzzsprout.com/2181509/14757741-portemao-2024-keith-richards-shark
I do like their podcast, but they need to have some sort of discussion over how they're going to handle talking points. It always ends up as a free-for-all and they're talking over each other.
I consider it a small price to pay to enjoy Bom's technical expertise. I feel that I get so much more in 30 minutes with those guys than I do want any others last year an hour or more.
Interesting that Bom will be working for a MA team. Working on Alpha BMW(s). Stock 1000 I thought he said. Not sure which rider.
Looking forward to seeing Bom in the paddock. IMO one of the best podcasts out there, good technical MotoGP content, yeah they stumble over each other but not nearly as bad a couple others. Pretty sure I'm going to pay for the extra content, sounds like Oxley has a quite the library of interviews.
I started listening late last season. Its been a great podcast. The tech info and insight is great and they try and keep them to 30 min but typically run a bit longer.
I couldn't get through this episode. I respect both Bom and Oxley, but they have very distinct skill sets that shine brightest when individually exercised. I get that Oxley raced and I respect his experience, and that he's trying to relate to the subject matter. However, at least in this episode, it stepped all over Bom's ability to make a point. My hope is that moving forward, they let Peter have the mic when they're doing a technical discussion. Similarly, having listened to the Stoner archive episode, holy moly, Oxley is able to get these rider's engaged and talking. Maybe it was a one-off, but Oxley clearly has a knack for getting a good conversation going and getting insights from riders that go well beyond the boilerplate "we had a good race, we did a great job, we look forward to the next race..."
He explained why in the video. In this particular setup, they can't see each other because they are both watching the data screen. Normally, they see each other and they know when to shut up. Anyway, I posted it in case there are other dinosaurs like me who are clueless when looking at a data screen.
