I know how he feels. My son is an Aspie. In 1996, my
wife and I were two of the 100 founding members of
the Aspergers Association of New England (AANE),
designed to give parents a place to find resources to
help them with their Asperger children. In 2014 they
decided to change the name to Asperger Autism Network,
and then in 2023 they changed it to Association for Autism
and Neurodiversity. For mostly political reasons it was
decided that Asperger Syndrome was no longer the
term to use. It kind of pisses me off that they went this way.
To make it worse, the current board is supporting a lot
of woke political bullshit that I'm totally against.
